BISB Weekly Update - January 5th, 2024
Message from Head of School & Head of Operations:
Dear TUSKERS's families,
Happy New Year! We hope you all had a restful break and we are ready to welcome you all back to school on Monday, January 8th 2024. We kindly request your child to arrive at school in time. For Early Years, students should arrive at school before 8:30 a.m., and students in Primary and Upper School should arrive at school before 08.00 and 7:50 a.m respectively.
On the same tokens, below are some reminders on the first week of second semester.
- Optional Mandarin starts from the 1st week of school when we return on Monday 8th Janaury 2024.
- Student Hours start in the 2nd week of school from Monday 15th January 2024.
- ECA Fairs for 2nd Semester is on Wednesday 10th January 2024 from 3.00-5.00 P.M. at Gymnasium.
- Soon after return to school, we will have photo week from Monday 15th to Friday 19th January 2024. Please see below detail on schedule date and time.
Last but not least, great news to share that we have successfully installed outdoor playgrounds for our Early Years! This play area is an extension that aims to provide more space for our students to relax and have fun with supervision during recess and lunch time.
We are looking forward to seeing our students back in campus very soon.

PHOTOS WEEK
Dear BASIS Families,
School photos are scheduled for January 15th-19th, 2024 in school for our students. Parents are invited to book a time slot for family photos, please see the time below;
Family Photo Schedule:
Monday 15th to Friday 19th January 2024:
- Morning session: at 07.00 – 08.00 A.M.
- Afternoon session: at 4:00- 5.00 P.M.
- Additional session: at 2.45 – 4.00 P.M. on Wednesday 17th and Friday 19th.
Important Note: For Family photos, reservation is required and first come first serves. Please call the front office at +66 2 415 0099 (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) or send a request through school Line at @bisb to reserve a time.
What to wear for students on their photo day:
Students are requested to wear their BASIS polo shirts for their class and individual photos (Gray color shirt for EY, Blue color shirt for G.1-8, and White color shirt for G.9). Please see below for the 2023-24 Photo Day Schedule to see which day your child will have their photo taken.
ECA Corner:
Dear Moms and Dads,
We do hope you this email finds you well. As we are getting ready to the beginning of Semester 2, thus, we would like to have saved the date for Semester 2 ECA FAIR which will take place on Wednesday, January 10th , 2024 from 3.00 - 5.00 P.M. at the Gymnasium.
Enclosed file is the ECAs (Extra-Curricular Activities) and Teacher/Student/Parents Led Clubs Catalog for second semester at BISB, please see the latest update version below.
Application for Signing Up:
Clipboard is being utilized to sign up and manage your ECAs, Teacher/Student/Parents Led Club as well as the payments.

BASIS EXPERIENCE (BE) 2024
Dear BASIS Families,
We are pleased to announce the launch of our BASIS Experiences (BE) 2024 program. The 2024 Summer Travel Program curates both educational immersion and travel with a special focus on the theme of “Making History”. This customized program is made possible through a special partnership between BASIS and WorldStrides, the United States largest and most trusted educational travel partner, serving over 450,000 students each year.
Our program is available to BASIS students who are currently enrolled in Grade 3 through Grade 9 as well as their friends or families with the above grade level. The 2024 Summer Program will immerse students in Natural History, Science and Technology and American Academic Life in Washington, D.C. and New York City. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, students will explore some of the most incredible museums in the world, get up-close-and-personal with the iconic spotlights, and discover a natural center park while experiencing incomparable learning moments.
The program is unique in that it includes inspiring travel experiences, an integrated campus experience workshop, visits to some of the top universities in the world and a chance to visit our sister school, BASIS Manhattan. BASIS Experiences is fun, hands-on learning and an opportunity to exchange cultural experiences, knowledge and life-changing moments for our students. This will be a trip that your child will be talking about for years to come!
Travel Period & Total Charge:
28th June 2024 – 12th July 2024 (Inclusive of travel dates)
Experience Price range: USD 7,900 – 8,800 (Depending on the number of participants)
Group Flight Price (Round Trip) with school chaperones: Will be updating during information session
Remark: we open up the option of the flight for families who wish to arrange their own travel. If parents are not traveling with student, student must be taking the group flight with school chaperones.

Moose Game Invitation Meets Registration - 6th-7th April 2024
Dear BASIS families,
We cordially invite your talented child to participate in the 13th Bangkok Gymnastics Invitational Meet Moose Game 2024 (Moose Game) that will be held during Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th 2024 at Thai Canadian Community Sports, Bangkok. Please see the criteria and details below for your consideration.
The Moose Games are annual invitational gymnastics meets which is one of largest invitational gymnastics meet in Thailand. The meets compete on the international gymnastics level with participants from international schools in Thailand and other schools from abroad such as Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore etc.
Below is the information of Moose Game as well as the criteria to participate the meets:
Part 1: Junior League
- Level 1-3
- Age Group Eligibility
Note: The Junior League aims to provide the opportunity for new talented gymnasts to perform and measure up to each individual’s ability to pursuit and help to their future interests in Gymnastics.
Part 2: Senior League
- Level 4 Junior (a gymnast who was born after 2013)
- Level 4 Senior (a gymnast who was born during or before 2013)
- Level 5 and 6 (National Development Plan (NDP) open age)
- Level 7 and 8 (NDP or a gymnast who prefers to compete in the F.I.G system)
Registration Requirement:
- All Interested participants from BASIS must be registered as BASIS International School Representative
- Registered participants must wear a BASIS Gymnastic Leotard (BASIS Leotard will be available for sales from March 2024)
Registration Process:
- An interested participant can register and check your level directly with a designated school gymnastic provider (Thai Canadian Community Sport, TCCS) via Line Official: @ThaiCanadian
- For pre-order a BASIS Leotard, please contact us via Line Official @bisb or email at ECA@basis.ac.th Please note that the leotards will be availble to pick up in March 2024
- The leotard for girls costs 2,400 THB
- The leotard for boys costs 1,650 THB
- The price above is excluding shorts and long pants, they are necessary for boys: Shorts costs 650 THB and Long pants costs 1,350 THB

Additional Parking Space for Parents
We have additional parking space for our parents at the CLIX Office Building. It is located just right opposite our campus. Please present BASIS Car Sticker and use extra parking space at your convenience.
