The "Giving Tree" Project 2023:
Dear Families,
As Christmas is nearly upon us, we are teaching our students about the importance of gratitude, appreciation, and kindness to others in and around our community. Therefore, BASIS International School Bangkok will join the “Fueng Fah Home” and “Baan Nokkamin Foundation” in a Christmas project called "The Giving Tree."
This project seeks to donate gifts to less fortunate children in our community, so we can share the joy of Christmas and teach our students about the importance of charity and kindness. The foundation has asked for new gifts only. If you would like to donate a gift. Please follow the instructions on the flyer for more information on how to submit your gift. All donations are welcome. Thank you so much for your assistance.
If you have further enquiries, please contact school staff at +662 415 0099 or LINE Official at @bisb
Best Regards,
Dr. W and Ms. Kwan

Early Years Newsletter:
Message from Director of Early Years:
Dear Families,
As we say in America, Happy Turkey Day! Thanksgiving is an opportunity to honor your chosen and given family and show gratitude for all the blessings in your life. We have had a busy week focusing on Kindness with our PK2 and Kinders participating in a Kindness Pledge and showing random acts of kindness towards others at BASIS. Hopefully you have witnessed acts of kindness at home as well.
A big thank you to Mr. Arm who came to share his career as a pilot with PK2. The students were riveted to the presentation and very interested in airplanes and how to fly them. They learned some excellent aviation vocabulary as well.
Also, a big thank you to the BASIS gardening team who presented to all PK1 students and gave them a chance to see how cuttings are replanted and what the big tractor is like!
There have been some questions around Class Dojo. This is an educational technology company that connects teachers and family through communication features such as a feed for photos and videos and messaging that translates into 35 languages. Our PK1 is running it this year as a trial to see if it is something that BASIS Early Years wishes to implement. We are looking at the purpose and use of Class Dojo to determine the best working balance in our communication methods. We will keep you apprised of our decision moving into the next school year.
Our swim department is requesting that students come with their own goggles and swim caps. Please add these to your swim gear.
Enjoy your long weekend and we will see you soon at conferences.
Sincerely,
Ms. Annie Fletcher
Director of Early Years
