Message from Head of School & Head of Operations:
Dear TUSKERS Families,
What a wonderful week! This week was full of the community activities.
We started the week with the Expert Talk in the topic of “Nurturing Your Child’s Executive Functions” by our School Counselor. We hope you found the session valuable and insightful where parents learned the executive functions and its importance in child’s development as well as we had an opportunity to share experiences with each other to establish a structured and supportive environment.
Another memorable event this week was definitely our Halloween Celebration! We hope you all had incredible time as our campus was transformed into Halloween wonderland to celebrate the spooky season. The celebration featured Halloween themed classes, creative costumes, friendly “Trick or Threat”, cupcake decoration and unforgettable parade from all the TUSKERS!. We would like to thank every attendee for your time and participation and most importantly the Parent Association who has extended their support to our school staffs to decorate the school.
On another reminder note on this coming Saturday, November 4th, students who are participating in the American Mathematics Olympiads (AMO) to prepare yourselves. We believe your dedication in practicing your skills will undoubtedly lead to success and excellence in this challenge. Best of luck for all to our TUSKERS!
Additionally, we have WISMUN VII Conference at Wells International School, On-Nut campus on Sunday, November 5th. This would be one of the first ever conferences for TUSKERS to develop public speaking, collaboration, global citizenship and awareness skills. It would also be an exceptional opportunity for our students to discover new talents and cultivate friendship and camaraderie. Mr. Dan and Ms. Kwan are excited to see our students there!
Lastly, we would like to inform you that we have additional parking space for our parents at the CLIX Office Building, starting from today. It is located just right opposite our campus. Please present BASIS Car Sticker and use extra parking space at your convenience.
Thank you everyone for your continuous support and involvement. Together, we can enhance joyful learning culture and empower our students to achieve their maximum potential.
Best regards,
Dr. W. and Ms. Kwan
Head of School and Head of Operations

Congratulations to NJHS New Members
Dear Families,
It is with great honor and privilege that we announce this year’s newest members to our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). NJHS is a student lead organization that serves our local community by planning and organizing events and projects to meet the needs of our school and greater community. Members are charged with maintaining outstanding academic standards as well as serving as examples in their leadership, service, character and citizenship.
Last year, NJHS members raised over 30,000 Baht to donate to a local children’s foundation. Their efforts in this project showed dedication to serving their community, ingenuity in planning and budgeting, and creativity in producing several different viable business plans. They also worked hard to help organize and run several school events, including the Middle School BASIS Got Talent Show, Songkran Festival Activities, and the end-of-year Art Exhibition.
This year, NJHS has already begun planning community art projects that will raise awareness of endangered animals and habitats as well as events to engage and enrich our BISB student community. We proudly welcome the following students to join these efforts as the newest members of BISB NJHS:
- Pitchabba Songatigamas (Plearn)
- Kierna Megan Vongkitbuncha (Meg)
- Punrada Wedsart (Punpun)
- Naparuethai Anuwatmatee (Milin)
- Peeravich Thitayanun (Jiban)
- Phopdham Yodkraisri (Punn)
A formal induction ceremony for new members is planned to be held in January.
Congratulations!
Mr. Jacob Starkey
NJHS Adviser

Message from Ms. Kate Irving, College Counselor:
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES for Grades 8 & 9
While summer is many months away, now is the time to start researching summer opportunities. There is so much out there, from online college courses to in-person experiential learning opportunities. Feel free to reach out with any questions. My summer advice to everyone in grades 8-9 is to plan for a three-thirds summer. Spend one-third having fun, one-third learning/working/preparing for next year, and one-third resting.
SEARCHES FOR SUMMER PROGRAMS ACROSS THE GLOBE
TeenLife online magazine has collected and curated some of the best summer programs for students in middle and high school. These one-of-a-kind programs come in all shapes and sizes — some are academically focused, others are skills-based, and still others are similar to a traditional summer camp experience. All of these programs offer vital enrichment opportunities for teens to expand their horizons.
With 300+ courses at 10+ prestigious universities and the opportunity to explore world-famous cities, get ready for a summer of massive growth. Explore a future profession with their Career Accelerators, dive deep into industries like entertainment or business or choose two wildly different courses to uncover your talents. It’s your summer, and you can design it your way.
Designed for students ages 13–18, courses are held in world-class cities with rich cultural offerings, using an impeccably credentialed faculty with the talent to educate and inspire. Their diverse, aspirational student body confirms the Oxbridge approach leads them to academic excellence.
GLA presents a fresh, new approach to service-learning and discovery abroad for intellectually-curious and socially-oriented teenagers. Embark on an unforgettable adventure to destinations across Africa, Asia & the Pacific, Central America, Europe, North America, South America and the Caribbean.
TEAN is an industry leader and one of the few geographically focused study abroad organizations. Broaden your horizons, expand your education and create countless memories interning or studying abroad.
