Early Years Newsletter
Message from Director of Early Years:
Dear Early Years Students and Families,
The first day of school is coming. My heart is happily anticipating seeing your eager faces make your way to this year’s teachers. It is a new school year filled with anticipation and hope. At BASIS Bangkok and especially in the Early Years we believe it is critical to belong to a safe and supportive community which champions the gifts and contributions of each unique individual, and which honors diverse backgrounds and perspectives. We emphasize respect, responsibility, safety and kindness in our classrooms and across campus. Your child will participate in lessons promoting peer support through collaborative problem solving, coping strategies, mentoring and teamwork. Through the lens of a growth mindset, we encourage our students to celebrate their leaps in both academic and personal responsibility.
Invest in and champion your child’s education and personal growth by talking with them every day about their experiences. Read with your child and practice English and numeracy with your child every day. Allow them to take the role of teacher and show you how they are being taught to practice. Look at their Communication Journal and as appropriate, respond in writing to your child and their teachers.
I extend my warm welcome to you, our families.
Ms. Annie Fletcher
Director of Early Years

Message from Dean of Primary and Upper School:
Hello TUSKERS Parents and Students,
We are so excited to see you back in school shortly! We hope you can enjoy the final days of summer holiday in leisure and fun with family and friends. It is essential that you begin setting up and establishing routines prior to the academic year beginning, in order to ensure the success of your child once the busyness of the school year ensues! Some routines to consider:
- Set up a consistent, quiet, and organized place for your child to study and do homework. Having a special area set aside at home will help your child stay organized and feel calm, free from distractions to study and complete homework.
- Establish consistent homework, chores, extra-curricular activities, and bedtimes. When children are on a steady schedule, they are able to effectively transition from activity to activity, with less stress and more efficiency. It helps them grow and feel safe, having a regular routine.
- Organize a reward system at home to celebrate your child’s successes inside and outside of school. Examples of rewards may include:
- sticker chart for chore completions
- special privileges when a goal or learning objective are met
- encouraging notes
- special treats or prizes for over achievement
- Building intrinsic motivation within your child to set up healthy routines and schedules is important. Explain that these habits will help support their success and make their academic experience better.
- Set expectations for behavior at home and at school, we will review the school behavior policy with students while at school but need parental support from home.
- Make learning a fun family activity, set aside reading time every night (20 min or more) as a family and try to follow up with curriculum at home with fun experiments and activities at home.
- Be sure to read all school newsletters, teacher emails, and materials sent from school in order to be prepared for upcoming events and reminders at school.
We are looking forward to a partnership in helping support your child in their academic learning and social-emotional growth. We are excited for a wonderful year together as a BISB community!
Please reach out or schedule and appointment by email for any resources or information to support your child.
Thank you,
Dean Selby (Dean of Primary) and Dean Drew (Dean of Upper School)

2023-2024 BASIS Parking Sticker Online Form
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
We're excited to welcome you and your child or children back on campus very soon. To kick off the smooth transition for this semester, we are kindly implementing a few protocols of the safety procedure.
Our utmost priority at BASIS International School Bangkok is providing a safe and effective learning environment and community. With this, we would like to issue the new parking stickers for all families; thus, the stickers will be used when you need to enter the campus. The stickers are significant to utilise at school that we would need to have all parents cars registered with the school.
You can fill out this form to register your car. Please provide accurate and complete details of your vehicles and attach a copy of your car registration to this form.
Kindly note that we limit stickers to a maximum of 2 per student. All stickers will be available in the second week of school.
Best regards,
Ms. Kingkarn ( Kwan) O.
