As a result, we have decided to relax the Covid-19 restrictions and mask policy in order to allow our community to return to normal life. Please find the information enclosed on this policy change.
New Mask Policy – Masks are optional for both indoor and outdoor spaces within campus.
Thank you and wishing everyone good health,

BASIS Experience (Summer Travel Program for Gr 3 - 8) Meeting
Dear BASIS Families,
We are pleased to announce the launch of our BASIS Experiences (BE) program, a summer travel program to the United States for our current 3rd through 8th graders. The 2023 Summer Travel Program curates both educational immersion and travel with a special focus on global climate change. This customized program is made possible through a special partnership between BASIS and WorldStrides, the United States' largest and most trusted educational travel partner serving over 450,000 students each year. Our program is exclusive to BASIS students who are enrolled in Grade 3 through Grade 8.
The 2023 Summer Program will immerse students in nature, science and technology in Northern California through Washington State. On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, students will explore some of the most incredible museums in the world, get up-close-and-personal with the exotic marine-life of Monterey Bay, and discover expansive natural beauty in Yosemite all while experiencing incomparable learning moments. The program is unique in that it includes inspiring travel experiences, an integrated STEM workshop, visits to some of the top Universities in the world and a chance to meet some of the BASIS Independent Silicon Valley families. BASIS Experiences is fun, hand-on learning and an opportunity to exchange cultural experiences, knowledge and life-changing moments for our students. This will be a trip that your child will be talking about for years to come!
Please find the detailed program enclosed for your kind reference and we would like to invite you to learn more at our information session on Tuesday, 24th January 2023 at 8.30am, in the Blackbox Theater.

Library Coffee Mornings
Hello from the Librarian!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and good fortune as we enter our Year of the Rabbit.
This week in the library we read about the Chinese New Year including Baby Loves Lunar Phases on the Chinese New Year by Ruth Spiro and illustrated by Irene Chan, and Chelsea’s Chinese New Year by Lisa Bullard, illustrated by Katie Saunders (both available on EPIC!). We also discussed the Lunar calendar and our wonderful nursery, Pre-K, and Kinder classes all danced like dragons. It was so much fun!
I would like to take this moment to invite parents of our:
- Primary & Middle students to join me on Friday, January 27th at 08.30 – 09.30 hrs for coffee and conversation.
- Early Years students to join me on Friday, February 10th at 08.30 – 9.30 hrs for coffee and conversation.
At this coffee session I will discuss the following topics:
- Library hours and student/parent use
- Your readers and how they use our library
- Upcoming events and activities
- What to do if your students loses/damages a book
- Future plans and goals for the library to improve student use
- Graphics novels: To read or not to read?
- EPIC! – using the digital library at home
- Destiny Discover and book requests
- How to help your students become lifelong readers
I, of course, will be accepting questions and listening to your concerns as well. I hope to see you all in the library/connexions space next week!
Happy reading!
Ms. Erika
