BISB Weekly Update - Welcome Back Edition (January 9, 2023)
Welcoming New Staff to the BISB Community
Dear BASIS Families,
I hope you all enjoyed a lovely holiday and had time to relax with your family and friends.
Today is the beginning of Semester Two, and as such, it seems an opportune time to introduce new staff to our school community.
Newly joined staff starting January 9, 2023:
Ms. Jenna Pava (Grade 5 LET) – Ms. Jenna comes from the United States of America. She has been a teacher for several years where she taught science and math, most recently residing in Florida. She is looking forward to teaching Grade 5 Math as well as being the much-anticipated Grade 5 LET.
Ms. Sukveena Suttarporn (TA, Thai department) – Ms. Sukveena has both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Thai Language. She has taught here in Bangkok, as well as in Singapore. She’s looking forward to joining our Thai team of teachers and working with our students.
Mr. Ivan Rock (Auxiliary Program Director) – Mr. Ivan has several years of experience teaching in International Schools in the UK, Kenya, China and Thailand. He is a passionate teacher, who believes in inclusion and demonstrates this through his philosophy of "excellence without elitism". He creates opportunities for all students to discover a sport they will enjoy and that will help them fulfill their potential. Mr. Ivan will work closely with both the school management and PE department on developing BISB Sport Teams, Sport Partnerships, and ECA sports programs.

ECA Registration for Semester Two
It’s time to sign up for ECAs (Extra-Curricular Activities) for semester 2 at BISB!
Please find the catalog for this semester’s ECA program below. You may register using the online form found here: ECA Registration Link
Registration opens on Wednesday 11th January 2023 at 9:00 am, and will run until Sunday 15th January 2023 at 16.00 pm. The link will be closed after 16.00 pm.
Once your registration is confirmed, the school will issue an invoice by Friday 20th January 2023. Payment must be completed by Friday 27th January 2023 at 16.00 pm.
ECA activities will commence from Monday 30th January 2023 to Friday 2nd June 2023.
Coffee Morning for Middle School - Friday, January 13 at 8:30 am
There will be a coffee morning meeting for parents of middle school students this coming Friday, January 13th at 08.30 hrs.
Topic: Preparing for Pre-Comp Exams, which will take place on February 7, 8, & 9.
All parents of grade 6, 7, and 8 students are invited to attend.
