Our Week in Pictures!
Message from the Head of School
One more week before a well-earned rest! Some things I would bring to your notice...
Library books - we will open the library for every class next week at scheduled times in order that the children can take some books home to read over the coming holiday!
There are Precomprehensive examinations for Grades 6 and 7 in January. A really good idea for children to do is to make a plan for revising (see advice here: https://www.theexamcoach.tv/the-blog/how-to-make-a-revision-timetable-that-works ) - this always reduces stress, and also means that children both can and should take breaks - duly putting these time-outs into their revision schedules. Work to help revision will be sent home by the relevant teachers - but this is not to be graded, it is simply to assist children to get ready for the impending examinations.
We have heard and observed children emulating some television programmes we would not recommend they view. The idea that Early Years children are watching 'Squid Game' is disconcerting. Please do monitor what children are watching to ensure it is age-appropriate.
We would love to start offering after-school activities in January. To date, we have followed the government protocols in terms of maintaining social distancing, etc. However, we are attempting to become a little more relaxed, with the necessary government approval, in the new year.
And... this weekend - catch your child doing something good - and actively praise them. This positive management of children pays dividends!
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend during this balmy weather, Alan.

Swimming Participation Survey
Dear Parents,
We are anticipating offering Swimming as part of our Physical Education lessons starting from January. In the past, we became aware that some families actively do not want their child to participate in Swimming lessons – and we believe this is indeed a parent’s prerogative.
Please complete the online survey HERE by December 17, so we can plan appropriate activities for students whose parents wish to withold them from the swimming program at this time.
Early Years Christmas Bazaar - December 17th, 2021
It's the most wonderful time of the year... Early Years Families, save the date for our Christmas Bazaar on Friday 17 December, starting at 11:00 am. Because of Covid protocols, it has been so long since we have been able to have community events on campus, so we are thrilled to be able to celebrate together with fun games, holiday treats, and exchanging small gifts before we all head off for our extended Christmas holidays. Your teachers will send you an email with more detailed information, but we wanted to give you a heads up so you can plan.
Parents who plan to attend the Christmas Bazaar are requested to bring the ATK test kit result (in a sealed, clear bag) to show school staff upon entrance to campus. Individuals without a test kit can purchase one at school for 120 THB.
Student Spotlight: Manghung 3Ar
Congratulations to Manghung Arunrungvichien in Grade 3 Argon for winning the silver medal in the U12 Thailand Youth Gymnastics Championship, competing in the junior gymnastics dance category.
Well done on the incredible accomplishment, Manghung, and we look forward to seeing many more to come!
Lost and Found: Year End Wrap-Up
Numerous items have been collected in the school's “Lost and Found” since the beginning of 2021, such as masks, goggles, bags, swimsuits, shoes and water bottles.
If your child is missing an item, please send an email to Mr. Josh at j.levenson@basis.ac.th with a description of the item and when it was lost. Alternately, please make an appointment with our reception to look at the items by December 15th, 2021. Items not claimed by the end of the year will be cleaned and donated accordingly.
