Community Health Update

With Thailand currently experiencing very wet climate conditions, the prevalence of flu and general illness is on the rise. If you child has any symptoms, including minor symptoms such as runny nose, cough, or fever, we strongly suggest seeing a doctor or keeping them home to help secure the health and safety of our wider community. Please do be responsible to the school community as a whole, and refrain from sending your child to school if you know they are unwell.

There were 5 confirmed cases of Influenza A this week in class 1 Ca, causing us to close this particular class and shift temporarily to online learning. All classroom spaces have been sanitized according to school protocols. We do hope that parents would appreciate and respect the school's discretion to close this class, as we are obliged to work closely with the Health Office in regards to safety.

Additionally, please find the community health update for this week below:

Photography and Videography on Campus

We would ask that parents desist from the above – unless the school suggests specific opportunities.

We have a number of children whose parents very specifically have asked that their children not be photographed – whilst the data protection rules add another complex dimension to this matter.

Of course, we understand your desire to record your babies in school, but we kindly ask that you appreciate the concern taking pictures engenders amongst staff in terms of our standing protocols on the matter – and the worries that other children’s images are being recorded.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter,

Sincerely,

Alan Wilkinson, Head of School

APEC Meeting, November 16 - 18

The government has announced the closure of the government offices on these 3 days for the APEC meeting, in order to reduce the traffic congestion for the delegates on their way to the meeting venue.  For our school, we are waiting for the government to officially announce whether private schools will have to comply with this direction.  At this point of time, the school will be operating as usual.
