Message from the Head of School
Revised COVID-19 Prevention Protocols from October 1st
With effect from October 1st, Thailand’s Ministry of Education is to rescind measures currently applied in all schools to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19.
The lifting of all preventive measures is in line with the improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the country and will coincide with the reclassification of COVID-19 as an “infectious disease under watch”, downgrading it from a “dangerous infectious disease”.
From Saturday October 1st, face-mask wearing all the time in schools, seat distancing of 1-2 metres, limits on the number of participants in group activities, the provision of additional hand cleaning facilities and daily disinfecting of classrooms, toilets and frequently touched will cease.
BISB has revised our protocols in accordance to the latest announcement, and we have decided to continue with the current facemask policy for indoor spaces at this time, as we wish to keep the community safe. Last week, 12 cases were reported within our school community, whereas we had no cases the previous week. Please see further details below:
Update on REVISED protocols as of 1 October, 2022 for our school:
- ATK testing: Will no longer be required prior to entering the campus unless that person has recently suffered from Covid - in normal circumstances, we will not ask students, parents nor staff to undertake an ATK test until further notice
- Mask policy: Masks are required for indoor and optional for outdoor spaces within campus. In essence, we are continuing with our existing policy for the time being.
- Should the school see any outbreak/transmission within a class – daily ATK testing shall be required for that particular week. School will communicate specific instructions to families in such a situation.
- Should there be a Covid case in school, the individual may return to the campus after 5 days of isolation. Before returning, the person must have a negative ATK test result and be symptom free.
- Communication relating to Covid: There will be no formal requirement for community alerts. However, if we see an outbreak pattern, of course, we will take all necessary measures to mitigate the risk to our community.
Additionally, please find the community health update for this week below:
