Message from the Head of School

Happy, happy Songkran!

Dear all – I am sure you are about to enjoy a wonderful holiday – I trust you have an amazing time and be sure to come back to school safe and sound on Monday, 18th April!

Very few notes for you to consider this week:

In Prek1 and 2 – we will start to use the Early Years gate from our first day back on Monday 18th April – this also means that the Early Year gate (Gate No.1) to the school will also be open allowing you easy entry with a vehicle.

Also with regard to Prek1 and 2 – we will return to our normal finishing hours – HOWEVER, if you still want to collect your babe at the existing time/s – that is fine.  Just be sure to let the school your intentions via LINE Official account.  And probably a good idea to email the relevant class teacher as well to be sure!

Remember that ECAs will all start and finish a little later from Monday the 18th April!

Please be sure to undertake the ATK test the night before coming back to school – as leaving this to the morning can cause massive inconvenience for other families should a babe have a positive result.

We freely acknowledge that the BASIS curriculum is very challenging for children –  academic rigour is at the core of the BASIS philosophy. If you feel your child is becoming overly stressed by the challenges of the school, kindly do come and meet with myself or Dean K – as we sincerely want to offer the best support and advice.

On holidays… Make sure the children do some reading – and let them choose what they want to read.  Give them some chores to do – and reward a job well done!  If you are on the beach, collect shells and stones to later make a shell castle or shell and stone sculptures – take some pictures and share with us, please!

Laugh.  Remember – they grow up too quickly...

Songkran blessings to you all!  Alan.

Changes to PK1 and PK2 Schedules After Songkran Break (April 18)

Dear PK1 & PK2 Parents,

We will be returning to our regularly scheduled ending time of 3:00 PM when we return from Songkran Break, commencing April 18h, 2022. Nap time will remain optional. Dismissal time will be as follows:

PK1 (No Nap) Dismissal:      1:30 PM

PK2 (No Nap) Dismissal:     2:00 PM

PK1 & PK2 (Naptime) Dismissal:      3:00 PM

Additionally, there will be a change in pickup and dropoff procedures for PK1 and PK2 students, as we will re-open the Early Years Building gate from April 18th, 2022. PK1 and PK2 students will be dropped off and collected from the Early Years pull-through line (gate no. 1). Parents can choose to park their car and walk in, or drop off & pick up through the car line.

Kinder drop off and pickup will remain at the main gate, unless a kinder student has PK1 or PK2 siblings, in which case they can be picked up from the Early Years gate. Families with Pre-K and primary students may continue using the main gate, as they have to date.
