Message from the School:
Dear Parents,
As we come to the end of the 2024–2025 academic year, we look back with hearts full of gratitude and pride. It has been an exceptional year of growth and learning. We have witnessed our students rise to academic challenges, grow in confidence, and develop both in and beyond the classroom. It has truly been a joy to watch them thrive throughout the year.
After a rigorous exam period, this final week gave them the chance to refresh, explore, and have fun. As we always say at BASIS: we work hard, and we play hard!
Our High School students embarked on an enriching journey to Shanghai as part of their Project Week. They explored cultural landmarks like the ancient town of Zhujiajiao, Yuyuan Garden, and the unique 1000 Trees building. Their hands-on experiences at the Shanghai Natural History Museum, a fun-filled day at Disneyland, and visits to prestigious universities like Fudan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University provided powerful moments of inspiration and connection. Meeting with current students studying abroad made higher education opportunities feel even more tangible and within reach. It was a trip full of learning and memories to cherish.

Our Middle School students also enjoyed an unforgettable outdoor adventure at iCamp Thailand in Kanchanaburi. Through team-building activities, hiking trails, and survival skills training, they developed resilience and a deep sense of camaraderie. Evenings around the campfire brought laughter and reflection, while games like volleyball and archery showcased not only their strength but also their spirit and teamwork. It was a powerful journey of growth and connection.

Back on campus, this week has been a lively celebration of creativity as students across all grade levels participated in their own Project Week experiences. From science camp to cartoon voiceover workshops, climbing adventures to Thai dance, debate camp to LEGO Masters, and so much more, our TUSKERS embraced new skills while bonding with their peers.

We wrapped up the year beautifully with our End-of-Year Award Ceremonies and Kinder Graduation, recognizing the achievements and progress of every student. These moments of celebration remind us not only of how much our students have accomplished, but also of how much they have grown in heart, character, and confidence. (Please stay tuned for the photo album.)
Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to every student, teacher, parent, and staff member who made this year so meaningful and memorable. The joy we have shared as a community—through performances, competitions, exhibitions, celebrations, and everyday moments—has truly brought our campus to life. Thank you for your continued support and trust. We look forward to welcoming you back on August 13, 2025, for another exciting school year ahead.
Wishing you all a joyful and restful summer break!
Warm regards,
BASIS International School Bangkok

Message from Director of Academic Programs
Dear BISB Families,
As we close out the academic year, I’d like to share some important information regarding Summer Packets for our students.
These packets are designed to help students review key concepts from the past year and preview material from the upcoming grade level at their own pace. They are optional for most students but encouraged as a way to stay engaged academically over the summer break.
For middle school students who did not pass one or more of their comprehensive exams, completion of the relevant summer packet is mandatory in order to become eligible for a retake at the start of the next school year. These packets will help reinforce foundational knowledge and prepare students to demonstrate mastery during the retake period.
Summer packets are available here: Summer Packets 2024-2025
(Alternative Google Drive link HERE)
We encourage families to support students in setting aside time for review and to reach out if they have any questions about expectations or content.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership. Wishing you a safe and restful summer.
Warm regards,
Mr. Ian

Early Years Newsletter
Dear Early Years Families,
As we close the chapter on the 2024–2025 school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for the trust, partnership, and joy you have shared with us. It has been a year of remarkable growth of tiny steps becoming confident strides, of tentative words becoming strong voices, and of learning wrapped in laughter and play.
This time of year always brings a mix of emotions. We say goodbye to classrooms that have been filled with curiosity, friendships, and milestones. We celebrate how far each child has come and look forward to all that is still ahead.
One quote that captures the spirit of Early Years education comes from educator and author Lisa Murphy:
“Early childhood education is not preparation for school. It is preparation for life.”
How true that is. In our play kitchens and story corners, our art tables and outdoor spaces, your children have been doing the most important work there is—developing the confidence, compassion, and creativity they’ll carry into the world.
To our families moving on to new places, you go with our admiration and best wishes. For those returning, I can’t wait to see you again in August as we begin the 2025–2026 school year together. I am honored to continue in my role as Director and am already looking ahead to how we can make next year even more engaging and inspiring for your children.
Until then, may your summer be full of rest, wonder, and togetherness. Thank you for being part of our Early Years community.
Ms. Annie

BASIS Student Council Election Results Announced

We are proud to announce the results of the first BSC elections, marking an important milestone in student leadership at BASIS International School Bangkok. Following a structured campaign period and candidate speeches held last Thursday, May 29th, students in Grades 6 through 10 cast their votes the next day during morning snack.
This past Wednesday, ballots were publicly counted during both Lower and Upper School lunch periods. Each vote was read aloud and tallied on a large whiteboard, allowing all of our students to witness the results in real time and celebrate the democratic process as a community.
Congratulations to the newly elected Officers of the BSC:
Tian Tian – President
Yo-I – Vice President
Anan – Secretary
Sally – Treasurer
Neree – Public Relations
We would also like to recognize and commend all the students who ran for office. Their courage, creativity, and willingness to lead set a strong example for the school community. Their participation helped make this a meaningful and engaging election.
The new BSC Officers will hold their first meeting next week to begin brainstorming and planning student-led events for the upcoming academic year. Please join us in congratulating all candidates and welcoming our new student leaders.

College Counseling Corner
Greetings BISB Community,
After a year of hard work, our students have truly earned this break, and they’re making the most of it. This summer, our high schoolers are off on incredible learning adventures across the globe, from Spain and Germany to Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and the US. Whether they’re diving into Sports Management, Entrepreneurship, Medical Volunteering, university coursework, Financial Investment programs, or conducting independent research, they’re building impressive skills and memories along the way.
I can’t wait to welcome them back in August and hear all about their experiences!
Thailand is just beginning to roll out a fantastic range of summer programs, and I encourage families to keep an eye out, many of these opportunities are well worth exploring for students age 12+.

Have a wonderful and enriching summer. See you in August.

N(J)HS
2024-2025 was an amazing year for NHS and NJHS. Under strong student leadership, especially from our President, Hua, the group has transformed into vibrant, student-led community dedicated to service and inclusion.
Our annual Songkran Festival was a highlight of the year, raising almost 50,000 THB through student-led efforts. The funds were donated to three incredible organizations: the Soi Dog Foundation, the Thai Red Cross, and the Smile Foundation.
I am looking forward to continuing our community work next year.

Library Corner
Hello from BISB Library!
I wanted to take a moment to thank our wonderful community for your support this academic year. It has been a joy to work alongside our students, parents, and teachers this year. We have had a ton of fun in the Library from our first story time on growth mindset with The Magical Yet, to our bubble-filled POP! Story Time, to book-trivia, and to not one, but TWO escape rooms. Thank you all so much for showing up, supporting the library, and keeping your TUSKERS reading. I look forward to the next academic year and sharing new books and creative projects with our students.
Additionally, I wanted to thank all of our students who contributed to this year’s edition of The Lotus Pond, BISB’s Literary Magazine, and I look forward to seeing the printed publication at the start of the next school year. The third publication will be available for purchase at the end of August/early September.
Lastly, a reminder that summer break is when students risk losing their reading and studying momentum – what we call the summer slide. Reading has been shown to help students avoid the loss of important skills they have built and learned over the school year. This is why the library is OPEN for summer hours starting next Monday, June 16th and you can find those summer hours below. Parents can check out up to 10 books per student! Avoid the summer slide in a fun, engaging way by encouraging your students to complete the Library’s Summer Reading Book BINGO – a fun reading challenge suitable for all ages! The BINGO is available below for printing or can be picked up in the library over the break. Students can earn 15 house points per square completed (points award for the new academic year) and a prize for completing the BINGO in its entirety.
Thank you again for an amazing year at BISB Library. I hope to see you this summer in the library, or again at the start of the new school year.
Happy reading,
Ms. Erika
Librarian
