Message from the School:

Dear BASIS Families,

We would like to start this week’s update with a big congratulations to our Middle School students for completing their Comprehensive Exams! We were so proud to see the dedication and resilience they showed throughout the exam period. To celebrate their hard work, students enjoyed a fun sports games, a ramen party, and a trip to the cinema. We hope they had a great time unwinding and making memories with friends. Well done, TUSKERS!

As a wonderful conclusion to the String Orchestra ECA, the group held a final performance at the Thai House on Wednesday. The students performed the Thai song Ta San Klom (“Round Eyes”) to honor our school’s motto, “locally rooted, globally connected.” This performance beautifully captured the spirit of both tradition and community as they bring the school year to a sweet close.

Earlier today, we had the joy of watching one of the sweetest events of the year, the Early Years musical performance, “There’s a Sunflower in My Supper.” Our youngest TUSKERS impressed us with their confidence, big smiles, and impressive stage presence. Thank you to all the parents who came to cheer them on, and to our Early Years teachers, nannies and staff for all the work they put in behind the scenes to make the show a success. Full photo album will be shared with you soonest, stay tuned!

Finally, we would like to kindly remind all families to take a few minutes to complete the BASIS Community Feedback Survey. Your input is valuable and helps us continue improving academics, events, communication, and overall student experience. The survey deadline has been extended to Friday, June 6, 2025. Thank you in advance for your time and support.

Wishing you a restful and happy long weekend!

Warm regards,
BASIS International School Bangkok

BASIS EXCHANGE Program Information Session – June 6

Dear Grade 8-10 Parents,

We are delighted to introduce our first-ever BASIS EXCHANGE program, an exciting new opportunity for our students and families! This program, taking place next academic year in October 2025, will offer our current Grade 8-10 students the chance to participate in a student exchange with our sister school in California, USA.

Through this unique experience, participating students will broaden their global perspectives, build lifelong friendships, and immerse themselves in a new academic and cultural environment. In addition, BASIS Bangkok families will also have the opportunity to volunteer as host families, welcoming visiting students from the U.S. into their homes and enriching their own family's cultural experience.

To learn more about the program details and how to become a host family, we warmly invite you to join our Information Session on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to engage globally while strengthening connections within the BASIS network. We look forward to sharing more with you and answering any questions you may have.

Warm regards,
BASIS International School Bangkok

Introducing the BISB Student Council

We are proud to announce the upcoming establishment of the BISB Student Council (BSC) at BASIS International School Bangkok. This initiative has been entirely student-driven, originating from student interest and planning during the previous academic year. It reflects their dedication to building a stronger, more engaged student community through leadership and service.

The BSC will consist of elected High School Officers who have gone through a structured application process. Candidates submitted applications, secured teacher recommendations, met academic requirements, and gathered student signatures from Grades 4 through 10. The official campaign period ran from Monday, May 19 to Thursday, May 29. Candidate speeches took place on Thursday, May 29 in the Black Box Theater, and voting was held the next day, Friday, May 30, during snack time. Results will be announced on Wednesday, June 4 at the Town Center.

While only High School students may run for officer positions, Middle School students are eligible to vote in the current election. In the beginning of the next academic year, Middle School students will have the opportunity to elect their own grade-level representatives, who will serve as members of the BSC. Looking ahead, there are plans to expand the council further to include representatives from the upper primary grades.

We are excited to support this student-led initiative and look forward to seeing the BSC contribute to student engagement, school spirit, and leadership development at BASIS Bangkok.

Mr. Michael and Ms. Emma
BSC Advisors

End of Sports Academy Season & Invitation to Sports Day 2025

Dear Parents,

As we wrap up another exciting year at the BASIS Sports Academy 2024-25, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our students, families, and staff. This journey has been nothing short of inspiring. With the final Football and Badminton Tournaments last Saturday, we brought the Academy season to a joyful and competitive close.

This year was not always easy, we faced our share of challenges, but it was made meaningful and successful thanks to the unwavering support of our vibrant community. Whether cheering from the sidelines, volunteering to score, or simply showing up with encouragement, you have helped elevate our program to new heights. TUSKERS End-of-Year Swim Update

As we close out an exciting school year, our TUSKERS wrapped up the swim term with energy, joy, and some splash-filled fun! This month, students dove into engaging team games like water frisbee and waterball, building not only their aquatic skills but also teamwork and confidence in the water. The grand finale? A spirited 25m freestyle and dog paddle swim-off that brought cheers, smiles, and a wave of school spirit!

Congratulations to all our swimmers for their fantastic effort, enthusiastic participation, and impressive growth throughout the year. We’re incredibly proud of the dedication each student has shown on their aquatic journey.

Looking ahead, our swimmers will continue progressing through the Swim England Pathway, developing technique, stamina, and water safety skills as they move up through the levels.

Over the summer, we encourage our TUSKERS to stay active, build strength, and keep swimming. Whether it’s laps in the pool or simply splashing around, every movement counts towards building endurance and staying water confident.

Thank you to our supportive families and committed coaches for making this another successful swim season.

GO TUSKERS!
