2025-2026 Tuition Fee Announcement
Dear BASIS Families,
We are pleased to share the Tuition Fees for 2025-2026 academic year as enclosed.
At BASIS we continually seek ways to improve our education and campus experience. Despite high inflationary conditions and economic uncertainty, we continue to support our students and families with new facilities and services. BASIS International School Bangkok is the most affordable private school within the BASIS Curriculum Schools network and we are pleased to continue to offer one of the best campuses and student experiences.
To ensure that we are able to offer education at the highest international levels, we must have small increases in tuition costs to help offset some of the additional expenses that the school incurs in delivering that education. Our objective is to keep our tuition adjustments to a minimum while offering the best value in terms of academic outcomes, services and activities for our children and families. This year our average tuition increase is 3.7% and we made adjustments to the tuition grouping to better reflect the resources allocated to those classes.
This year you may have taken note of the many school enhancements, such as those listed below. Other ongoing costs are less visible to you, such as increased cost of personnel & recruiting, supplies, utilities, repair & maintenance and many others may not be as obvious but are necessary to ensure we continue to provide a quality education.
We would like to highlight some of the things that we have added over this past year or are currently on process for the coming academic year:
- New facilities – Ongoing completion of the third floor of the Academic Building, chess & recreation area, replacement of entrance doors at all buildings, Early-Years Outdoor playground, and expanded service areas to enhance safety.
- Academic and Activities Support – Additional personnel, including Lab Technician, Library Assistant, Early-Years Dean, and a new Math Pathway. We have continued to expand our Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings by adding teachers to support course additions from 2 courses in 23-24, to 8 in 24-25, and now to a planned 16 in 25-26. We have added additional classroom and curricular materials including Physics Lab kits, VEX Robotics kits, microscopes, CharacterStrong licenses, violins and cellos for the music department. We have also enhanced our communications and school performances with additional LED lighting systems and microphones for the Black Box, school communication boards (more than 30 points), and the school LED communication screen. Next year our campus will have over 110 full-time teachers with a student-teacher ratio of less than 6:1.
- Technology – Continued investment in academic support systems, College Counselling software, Safeguarding software, additional laptops, replacement tablets, replacement telephone and intercom system, replacement of firewall and internet monitoring system, and expansion of electronic system access points.
- Extracurricular and Activities – expansion of free activities with student and teacher led clubs, the ARTFINITY event, additional academic competitions, and expanded school-wide events and activities.
We thank you for your continued support of BASIS and our mission. Please feel free to reach out to our team if you have any questions.
Most sincerely,
Dr. W and Mrs. Lyn
Head of School and Head of Operations

College Counseling Corner
Greetings BISB Community,
Welcome to the College Corner, a snapshot of the College Counseling process at BASIS International School Bangkok.
I recently had the opportunity to attend the Global University College Counselors Conference (GUCC) in Singapore—a gathering of professionals deeply engaged in the changing landscape of international college admissions. I came back with a notebook full of insights and a mind buzzing with big-picture takeaway.
What I Think About When I Think About College Counseling
After working in college counseling for the past 20 years, I’ve seen the landscape shift in all kinds of ways new systems, new platforms, new politics. But one thing has always stayed the same: the students.
No matter what population I’m working with, and no matter which universities they’re applying to, the key to a meaningful and successful application process is the same: students need to be the best version of themselves not a checklist based on what someone else did, or what some internet post says is “impressive.”
The work starts long before Grade 12. It begins when students explore who they are—in childhood, in middle school, and especially throughout high school. And when it’s time to apply, the real magic happens when they reflect on that journey and shape it into an application that is authentic, proud, and personal.
Because here’s the truth: universities see thousands of similar transcripts. So how do they choose between two students with the same GPA or how does a student choose what university to attend? It comes down to the human behind the number. The voice. The individuality. The potential. The hard work put in. I want students graduating from BISB excited for their next step, and proud of the person they have become.
One of the most important things I remind students is that there doesn’t have to be one perfect, “dream” college. We are looking for the place where their “dreams” can come true, even if they don’t quite know what they are yet. The goal is to find a range of good-fit options places where they’ll be supported, challenged, and inspired, no matter where life takes them. College isn’t the finish line, it’s a launchpad. What matters most is that the environment helps them keep becoming the person they want to be. University will be their next home, the start of their individual journey, not just a name on their resume.
And yes, there are always external forces at play. Geopolitical shifts affect visas, work permits, and safety. That’s something I’ll always be tracking carefully for our students. But the most important constant in all of this? Them. Their hard work. Their voice. Their future.
That’s the work I love doing and that’s the work I’m honored to keep doing, with and for this amazing and growing school community.
As your college counselor, I’m here to guide your child’s personal and academic journey beyond the classroom. When it comes to rigorous preparation, you can rest easy knowing that our school along with its globally recognized Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum is respected by universities around the world. But it’s the students who are doing the hard work: showing up, challenging themselves in class, preparing for exams, and pushing their own limits. Their dedication is what truly shapes their future. My role is to support that journey to help turn all that effort into opportunities, confidence, and an application that reflects who they are and where they’re headed.
I’d love to connect more with you! Please feel free to stop by my office or join me for a casual coffee chat on Friday, May 23, at the BISB Café from 8:30–9:30 a.m. I’ll be there to answer any questions you may have and to share more about the college counseling plans for our school community. While my focus is on supporting families with students in Grades 8–10, all parents are warmly welcome. Translation will be provided.
Best,
Ms. Kate Irving

Library Corner
Hello from BISB Library!
This week in the library, students continued to explore the Fantasy genre with Early Years learning about penguin pirates with Rob Biddulph’s story, Sunk! For primary school, students read Franklin and Luna and the Book of Fairy Tales by Jen Campbell and were encouraged to find and check out a fantasy or adventure story that they haven’t read already. It is so fun to see students engaged in stories and growing their love of reading!
Also, this week, our BISB Book Club students had the pleasure of hosting a virtual Q&A with Korean Canadian author, Angela Ahn! Our book club read three of her wonderful novels this term and enjoyed being able to ask her lingering questions and learning about her writing techniques and novel planning. It was a fantastic experience for our students!
As we continue our exploration of the fantasy genre, a reminder to register for next week’s A Magical Mystery! This Harry-Potter themed escape room intertwines our love of the magical world, with the mystery solving of Sherlock Holmes. A Magical Mystery will be after school on Thursday, May 22nd from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. This free event is registration only and all attendees must arrive by 4 p.m. (no entry will be permitted after, even for registered attendees as this event is time sensitive). On arrival, primary and up students will be sorted into their BISB houses - note that EY students will be given a house and siblings will be kept together in the same house. While waiting to complete the escape room, students will also get to play the game of quidditch outside on the field (maximum 30 minutes)! Please bring hats and sunscreen for this activity. House-points and prizes will be awarded for both the Escape Room completion and participation in the Quidditch Matches.
To sign up, please use this link and register by Tuesday, May 20th: https://forms.gle/2ywRiJCEGRXdrX6c8 I hope to see you there!
Lastly, a reminder that next week is the final week for students to check out library books. Please assist them in locating their lost/overdue books at home and return them to the library so they can check out a new book next week. All library books must be returned during the week of May 26th-30th.
Thank you and happy reading,
Ms. Erika
