Message from Head of School & Head of Operations:
Dear TUSKERS Community,
The Academic Year 2023-2024 chapter is closed, but after the summer break, a new one will begin with lots of learning, happiness, excitement and opportunities.
This past year, so much has been achieved by all of our TUSKERS and we thank our families for your support, care and love.
We are wishing you an amazing summer, with lots of time with family and friends. Do also remember to take the time to complete your Summer Packets and open many books to read.
Enjoy and be safe, so that you can come back healthy and ready for our next chapter here at BASIS.
Best wishes to everyone,
Dr. W and Ms. Kwan

Message from the Director of Academic Programs
Dear Students & Families,
It's been a privilege being a part of the BISB family from its founding in 2019 until now. The past five years have been some of the most memorable, important, and formative in my life, and I am thankful to each and every one of our students for how much they have taught me and inspired me to keep pushing and improving, just as they do every day. I would also like to thank our wonderful parent community for your endless support, and for your role in forming the brilliant and caring people we have the pleasure to call students in this school.
While I move on at this juncture to take the next steps in my career's journey, BISB will forever be a home away from home, thanks to its wonderful people and cherished memories. I cannot wait to see the amazing achievements of our students in the future, and look forward to celebrating their successes when we next see each other again.
Wishing you all a wonderful, healthy, and happy summer,
Mr. Josh Levenson

Primary, Middle & High School Newsletter
To the Dear Families, Staff, and Students of BISB,
I am coming to the end of my 5-year experience at BISB and wanted to say goodbye to you all and to thank you for all the great memories here at BISB. I came to BISB from BASIS Phoenix Central in Arizona when the school first opened in June of 2019. I was honored and excited to be a part of the inaugural team as 3rd grade LET and absolutely dazzled to be living in beautiful Thailand!
Over the years, I have enjoyed many rich and meaningful experiences with colleagues and students at BISB. I have had the pleasure of hosting gardening and baking clubs, participating in many school events, serving as Mentor LET, and enjoying my time as the Dean of Students. I have loved the special relationships I have fostered with teachers, students, and parents. I will cherish these wonderful experiences I have had here and wish you all the best for your future. Thank you for making a lasting impression on my heart, I will take that with me always.
With gratitude, love, and support,
Dean Selby,
Dean of Primary
Early Years Newsletter
Dear TUSKERS Families,
It has been a joy to be the first director of Early Years at BASIS Bangkok. We have made many positive changes, weathered challenging events and come out celebrating. Every experience has helped us reflect and shape how we will prepare for the upcoming school year.
Our students completed this week with culminating projects in every grade. Nursery students held a market day and shared their knowledge of transportation and transactions. PK1 classes each focused on a habitat, and families and fellow Early Years students learned about the Artic, the Rainforest and the Sea. PK2 students embarked on astronaut training and deepened their knowledge of planets and space. Kindergarteners reflected on their year, forecast their future occupation and prepared for graduation.
I hope you enjoy the summer break with your family. I wish our Kindergartners a fond farewell. They will always hold a special place in my heart as my first graduating class, and lucky for me, I will get to see them around campus next year too!
I will dearly miss our outgoing staff who are moving on to their next international school placement or a new career entirely. I look forward to welcoming our incoming staff into our tight-knit Early Years community. For those of you also moving to new countries and new schools, thank you for sharing your child with us this year. I wish you all the best. For those of you returning to us in the fall, your new teachers are so excited to meet you! BOSS camp feels far away, but it will come quickly.
Take care,
Ms. Annie Fletcher
Director of Early Years
Summer Packets 2024
Dear Families,
Please find the link to Summer Packets 2023-2024 here. As a reminder, the purpose of the summer packet is to review material covered in the previous academic year, and to avoid backsliding or forgetting important information. In most cases, Summer Packets are optional for students to complete. Packets are also not meant to cover new material or prepare for new content in the upcoming year.
Summer Packets are labeled by grade-level in the 2023-24 academic year (not rising grades). If a summer packet is mandatory for your student to complete, that will be communicated with you by the relevant Deans, along with a deadline for completion.
Wishing everyone a wonderful summer!
Mr. Josh
Library Corner:
Hello from BISB Library!
I have so enjoyed my second year here as your BISB Librarian. It is a pleasure to work with students of all ages levels and to watch their love of reading grow, as the library continues to grow too! I’ve greatly enjoyed every storytime, every book challenge and competition, and every event that students and parents have come to support.
It is my hope that next year will be even better and I would like to sincerely thank every student and parent that takes the time to visit the library and supports our reading community.
As we wrap up the school year, I wanted to share a final project that three wonderful Early Years students worked on during Reading Advancement these last few weeks. Olive in KF, Cooper in KCl, and Anya in KBr are all very strong readers and they worked together to write and illustrate their own unique story about TUKSERS the Elephant. Please watch and enjoy their hilarious adventure story below, narrated by Anya, Olive, and Cooper. You can read the physical copy in BISB Library.
Additionally, I wanted to remind parents that BISB Library is open during summer break – with a handful of new books just in to attract our readers! The library will be open every Monday and Wednesday starting July 1st to July 24th. I will be in the library from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Students of all age levels are welcome, but please note that all students under Grade 4 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Lastly, to encourage summer reading, I have created some fun reading challenges! Check out the image below for the challenge options and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You can pick up the challenge papers in the library, or print your own here: BISB Library Reading Challenges_PDF.pdf
The final day to complete these challenges will be Friday, August 16th and all participating students will earn both house points and a prize!
Thank you all again for a wonderful year.
I hope to see some of you in the library over summer break!
Happy reading,
Ms. Erika
Librarian
