Message from Head of School & Head of Operations:
Dear TUSKERS families,
What a wonderful week with varieties of activities around campus. We celebrated our Grade 9 students after their AP exams with residential trip to Singapore during the long weekend. They had a fantastic time exploring the history and culture of the city and most importantly it strengthened their bonds and definitely created lasting memories among peers.
At the start of the week, our gymnasium was bustling with friendly sports matches. We hosted King’s College International School Bangkok for U13-U15 Boys and Girls Badminton matches and welcomed Ruamrudee International School for a U9 Mixed Basketball match. These events provide excellent opportunities for our students to enhance their sports skills in a supportive and friendly competition. Thank you to all the parents for your incredible support for our young athletes.
Please be reminded that today marks the last day of the Sport Academies for this academic year. We concluded the Sport Academies with a heartwarming Sport Potluck for all athletes and families. It was inspiring to see how sports not only foster camaraderie among players but also bring the entire community together. Cheers to Team TUSKERS!
We kindly remind everyone to support and respect the Comprehensive exams for our Middle School students next week by fostering a cohesive and quiet environment in campus. We wish them all the best for their exams! Go TUSKERS!
Last but not least, we are excited to invite all families to join us for the Early Years Drama Show, “Peek A Boo! What do we do?” on Monday, June 10th, 2024. There are 2 rounds:

BASIS PE Triumphs! A Year of Discovery, Growth, and Setting New Standards
Dear Parents,
This year at BASIS PE, we witnessed something truly remarkable - the unleashing of a sporting spirit unlike any other!
Early Years: A Celebration of Growth and Discovery:
For our Early Years athletes, the year has been a transformative adventure! From conquering gymnastics skills to mastering expressive dance movements, from exploring the wonders of outdoor activities to uncovering the rich tapestry of physical games from Thailand and beyond, it has been a whirlwind of growth, fun, and discovery.
We witnessed their strength, confidence, and teamwork blossom as they tackled new challenges and celebrated achievements. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play a part in their physical and personal development.
A Symphony of Sports: G1-G9
Our students embarked on an epic journey of athletic exploration, mastering the fundamentals of Basketball, Football, Athletics, Badminton, Rugby, American Flag Football, and Volleyball! Their enthusiasm and hunger for new challenges were truly inspiring – with each new sport bringing a fresh wave of "what's next?" questions. This curiosity and dedication are every PE teacher's dream come true!
This incredible diversity of sports and activities has provided us with an invaluable insight into our students' unique talents and needs. This wealth of data will be instrumental in tailoring our lessons for even greater impact next year.
We wish you all a safe and restful summer. Get ready, TUSKERS, because next year, we're aiming even higher!
Go TUSKERS!
Sincerely,
The BASIS PE Team
BASIS Swimmers Triumph! Celebrating Achievements & Gearing Up for More!
Dear Parents,
This year at BASIS Swimming, we witnessed a truly remarkable display of perseverance and aquatic prowess!
Early Years: Taking the Plunge with Confidence
Our Early Years swimmers have also been making waves! May ushered in their final unit of Learn to Swim 3. They've been diligently practicing crucial skills like jumping in from the poolside, logrolling, and pushing and gliding. These skills will be showcased in their upcoming assessments.
These young learners have displayed immense swimming potential, and we're thrilled to present them with their well-earned Swim England Discovery Duckling 4 certificates upon kindergarten graduation.
Grades 1-9: Mastering the Art of Swimming
For swimmers in Grades 1-9, May marked the exciting culmination of their journey. They dove headfirst into their final unit – a comprehensive review of strokes, assessments, and the much-anticipated introduction of dives and flip turns!
This intensive training, coupled with their dedication throughout the year, has honed their skills in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. We are incredibly proud of their progress, and their upcoming assessments will be a testament to their commitment.
We'll finish the year with a splash, engaging in exciting water games that showcase their diving skills, teamwork, and physical awareness. And the best part is that this playful learning aligns perfectly with our engrossing Swim England curriculum!
We have awarded well-deserved Swim England Certificates to swimmers who have met the rigorous standards of the program. Witnessing the strides they've made fills our hearts with immense pride!
We, the BASIS swim coaches, are proud of each of our swimmers! They are all champions. We look forward to seeing them return next year, ready to conquer even greater aquatic feats!
Go TUSKERS Swimmers!
Sincerely,
The BASIS Swim Team

Ping Pong: 6th Grader vs Head of School
Today, I had the opportunity to play a few points of ping pong with Grade 6 student, Tichar. Tichar impressed me with her playing style, and especially with her focus, fast moves and dangerous service.
Tichar and I have been speaking over the past few months and finally agreed to an official match toward the end of the Academic Year. Today, Friday 7 June, we held the match at 12:30, right after lunch.
Our referee, Coach Tony, explained the official rules to us. We played a best-of- 3 match to 11 points per game and a change of service every second point. Tichar won the first game 11-7. After switching sides, Tichar’s confidence, smashes, subtle serves and shot strength left me well behind. The second game ended in 11-1. Overall, a 2-0 victory for Tichar.
Tichar is a very talented ping pong player and I am proud to have students like Tichar at our school. I will be practicing ping pong for a rematch next Academic Year!
Thank you Tichar for playing and congratulations!

Class 3Ar Music Video Project
It has been a busy couple of months recording the Argonauts singing and dancing, but we have had so much fun along the way. In our Connections curriculum, one of the topics was to create a parody. I thought the students could use the skills they learned in the Humanities poetry unit to help me write a song. Later, I thought, "Hey! Why don’t we record it properly and make a music video?" I believed it would be a fantastic memory for the kids to look back on in the future.
I could not have done this without such a great group of kids who are so willing to put in the effort!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the video. Special thanks to all the Argonauts for your hard work, patience, dedication, and for putting up with me and my crazy ideas!
