Message from Head of School & Head of Operations:
Dear TUSKERS families,
We are thrilled to share that our BASIS Swim team took home 3rd place at our first BASIS Swim Meet last Saturday. It was wonderful to see our swimmers in action, showing off their amazing skills and teamwork. We are truly inspired by their hard work and talent. A big thank you to all the BASIS families for your support, and a special shout out to our swim coaches, PE team, and administrative staff for helping make this event a success.
We also wanted to share some exciting news from last Sunday, where some of our students made it to the Semi-Final round of the HIPPO English Language Olympiad. Our young TUSKERS really impressed us with their confidence and language abilities. We couldn't be more proud of their achievements and we can't wait to hear the results. Keep an eye out for more updates!
During this Appreciation Week, we thank all our TUSKERS for consistently showing respect to our school staff, and to our academic team for acknowledging the hard work of the school staff. It's wonderful to see our students embodying the values of our school by treating others with kindness and respect.
On a reminder note, for students taking part in the International Science Olympiad (ISO) on Sunday, May 26th, 2024, the registration will commence from 8:30 A.M. We kindly request that every participant be present prior to 8:50 A.M. Wishing everyone the best of luck! Go TUSKERS!
Lastly, we cordially invite all families to join us for the "Sir Tusker’s Dreamtacular Circus" show on Friday, May 31st, 2024. This collaborative production features the talents of our students from Grades 1 to Grade 5. Please come and support our talented young performers. Kindly refer below for more detailed information. We hope to see you there!
Best regards,
Dr. W and Ms. Kwan
Head of School and Head of Operations
Primary Drama Show: The “Sir Tusker’s Dreamtacular Circus."
Dear Parents,
We cordially invite you to watch our dazzling primary production. This year, we are happy to present you with the show “Sir Tusker’s Dreamtacular Circus." The show features live music, energetic dance routines, and imaginative scenes led by our charismatic ringmasters and hilarious clowns, which were produced collaboratively by our performing arts and music departments with students from grades 1–5.
The Black Box theater transforms into our very own circus tent, with the audience surrounding the stage on all four sides, just like the real big top.
Show Date: Friday, May 31st, 2024.
Show Time: Grade 1-2: 10:30-11:30 A.M. | Grade 3-5: 2:00-3:00 P.M.
Note: Please note that the show will be the same performance for both rounds. We encourage parents to attend the show only for their student’s grade level. If you have students in both grade levels, you may choose either time.
Sincerely,
Ms. Olivia

Greetings Grade 8 and 9 families,
Congratulations to Grade 9 on completing their first AP exam(s). They must be feeling great relief this weekend. I wish Grade 8 the best of luck in preparation for their upcoming Comprehensive exams. I'm sure they will impress us yet again.
The first news I have to share is that BISB has secured a Medical Internship partnership with Nakornthon Hospital. This phenomenal opportunity will be available next school year and more information is coming soon.
The other news for you is that there are still many educational summer opportunities open to students who still want more out of their summers.

My summer advice to everyone in grades 8-9 is to plan for a three-thirds summer. Spend one-third having fun, one-third learning/working/preparing for next year, and one-third resting.

Library Corner:
Hello from BISB Library!
Thank you to all of the wonderful students and parents that registered for BISB Library’s Midnight Mystery Escape Room! This was one of my favorite library events yet, and I loved seeing our students try out their detective skills and work together to find the missing piece. Every group did a wonderful job. Check out the top 3 groups who completed the room in the quickest amount of time:
1st Place: 4:00 P.M. Group, 5 minutes!
2nd Place: 3:45 P.M. Group, 6 minutes, 20 seconds.
3rd Place: 4:15 P.M. Group, 6 minutes, 41 seconds
It was a lovely, successful event and I appreciate the community support and involvement. Thank you!
Library Hours and Book Returns for End of the Year:
I also wanted to inform parents ahead of time regarding the library’s book return week. All library books must be returned the week of June 3rd to June 7th. Students and parents cannot checkout new books during this week. This is because I need to complete a full library inventory to ensure all of our books are back in the library.
Any books not returned by Friday, June 7th will be considered LOST and will need to be paid for so we can buy a replacement – per our school’s library book replacement policy.
Additionally, please make note that the library will be open the week of June 10th – 13th, but books may not be checked out of the library, as I will be conducted the inventory during the week.
Please also make note that the library will be CLOSED beginning Friday, June 14th for Sports Day activities, and all of the following week of June 17th to June 21st for Project Week and end of school events.
Don’t worry though if you want your TUSKERS to keep reading over break, as I will be announcing my summer library hours soon. With these summer hours, students and parents may continue to visit the library over the summer holiday and checkout books for the break. Please stayed tuned for summer library hours in a future newsletter.
Thank you as always for your support.
Sincerely,
Ms. Erika
Librarian
