This week, our NJHS students visited the Good Shepherd Sisters Bangkok to hand over the proceeds from their successful bake sale fundraising project. It was truly heartwarming to witness the incredible support from the entire community. A big round of applause to our NJHS members for their dedication and kindness!
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 4th, please join us to support our basketball players in the U13-U15 Boys & Girls Friendly Match with Australian International School Bangkok, Raffles American School Bangkok and Anglo Singapore International School, starting at 1:30 P.M. at our Gymnasium.

Ways to Keep Our Community Safe during the Heat Wave:
As the heat wave is rolling through Thailand during this time, here are some of the things we do at our school to keep our community safer.
- We use natural grass field which is 10-15 degrees cooler than artificial turf.
- We maintain 20,000 trees and shrubs to help control urban heat island effect.
- We use white rooftops to help control the urban heat island effect.
- We provide refrigerated drinking water outlets around the school.
- We utilize large air-conditioned indoor areas to accommodate our students, including canteen, gym, gymnastics room and multi-purpose room.
Last but not least, our newest initiative, 6. We have just installed water atomizers spaced at outdoor areas frequented by students and staff. This will help to reduce the temperature while maintaining hygiene safety.
At BASIS, we are committed to improve both safety and comfort to our community while minimizing the impact to our environment.
Save the date for School Events and Academic Calendar:
Blue All Over: A BASIS Arts Electives Performance
Event Date: Wednesday, May 8th
Time: 4:00 – 5:00 P.M.
Get ready for a lively performance merging the talents of our drama, choir, art, and band students in Blue All Over. This fun performance takes the form of a live broadcast on Eco TV, a fictional channel dedicated to environmental awareness.
The show begins even before our audience enters the theater, with a foyer that will remind you of a world-class art gallery. Make sure to make time to fully appreciate the art students’ beautiful contributions to the performance.
Our drama students will perform goofy sketches during Eco TV's home shopping segment. The broadcast will be sprinkled with thought-provoking commercials highlighting environmental issues, even featuring a poetry reading.
The choir will serenade you with beautiful songs celebrating our precious planet Earth. Their repertoire will also touch on the frustration felt by younger generations witnessing the threats posed by careless behavior. Our talented band will provide live accompaniment and energetic rhythms throughout the show.
Don't miss this heartwarming and entertaining performance showcasing the hard work of our elective students.
Early Years Newsletter
Hello Early Years Families,
Listening to others is an important life skill, and it takes practice! In Early Years, we focus on listening skills. Being a good listener is an important skill to cooperate well with others as we work together. We learn and practice these Strong Listening strategies at school. Try them at home with your student.
- Eyes are ready (point to your eyes)
- Ears are listening (cup your ears)
- Brain is focused (point to your brain)
- Heart is caring (put your hand on your heart)
A way you can practice listening and cooperation skills with your children is to play board games or card games together. Go Fish and Concentration can both be played using cards. Some of my students’ favorite board games from the United States are Chutes and Ladders and Sorry. By playing games like these, you will also be building math skills, color identification skills and you get to have fun together as a family!
Let me know what your family's favorite games are! Thank you for collaborating with us in the continued education of your children.
Sincerely,
Ms. Annie Fletcher
Director of Early Years

Academic Spotlight :
Students from the Intro to Business class visited Choo Jai Station, a local restaurant seeking assistance with developing a marketing plan to expand its customer base. The owners welcomed our students, offering them samples from their menu and sharing the restaurant's history. Students engaged actively, asking questions to collect data and insights for their project. This visit provided a valuable real-life application of their classroom learning and an opportunity to engage with local stakeholders.
